Hey, everyone! Stately here and this week I thought I would talk about a different kind of pet. Horses are amazing animals and they come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. They’re very smart, loyal and best of all, you can ride them!
My Pet Horse
Ever wanted to get a horse for a pet? They are great pets to have but require a lot of Responsibility. Responsibility is taking care of your pet and helping your parents take care of them without always having to be asked or told to. Unlike dogs, cats and other small pets though, horses have a few other needs. Watch this video to find out more about what it takes to care for a pet horse.
Daily Care of a Horse
This is Nicky and her best friend, Lakota. Lakota is an American Paint Horse and here Nicky goes through her daily schedule for taking care of him. Each day she washes and feeds him, but also leaves in a little room for some fun!
The Black Stallion
Last week, I talked about a few book series featuring dogs. Well, if you’re more of a horse fan, you’ll love The Black Stallion series by Walter Farley. This series is about a powerful racehorse named The Black and his young owner, Alec Ramsay. The first of twenty books was published in 1943 and the last in 1989. Here is the trailer for the movie version of the first book.
Smallest Horse in the World
This is Einstein, the smallest horse in the world! He was born in April of this year and is 14 inches tall. Finally, a horse I can see eye to eye with!

And then there’s Radar, the world’s tallest horse at 6’7”! Wow!

There is a right way and a wrong way to ride a horse. In this video, Stephanie shows us the correct way to ride a horse as well as the different styles!
